Thursday, 9 September was RUOK? Day. I encourage all parents and carers to take time over the next few weeks as well as during the holidays to ask their children “are you okay?”. Part of our wellbeing time today for students in Years 7-12 was to explore what this means for your children.

Colour for a Cause
A very special and important event has been created by a Pacific Hills family. Known as ‘Colour For A Cause’ supporting the Children’s Cancer Institute’s Zero Childhood Cancer program. The event will be running throughout September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness month.
Inspired by the ongoing journey of one of our youngest students in Junior School, this initiative was established. You can read the personal story here.
I encourage you to access the link and pledge your support where possible.

Celebrating Middle School
Zoom Fun: Disco Zoom Year 5 Style - What fun to see the dress ups and dance moves of some fabulous, iconic student performers!!

Missions and Service: We continue to zoom with the Castle Hill Anglican Retirement Villages residents. Last week we were very thankful to the Lifestyle Coordination at ARV for organising a September birthday celebration for their residents and allowing our students to attend virtually. They had organised a scavenger hunt for our students and sent over yummy treats and cake prior, so our students could celebrate together. This week our Captains met with them virtually to talk about childhood games and challenge the residents to a quiz on capital cities and countries.

Creative lessons: Some of our history students have been exploring the Samurai era. Have a look on Instagram at their origami creations:

STEM Punks day: Tuesday was a fun incursion, learning at home and at school, where Year 5 and 6 students designed their own Prehistoric Zoo with STEM Punks. They learnt about what a zoo is and what a zoo needs, and used the Design Thinking Process to create innovative solutions for a prehistoric zoo. Then they designed and built a 3D zoo using CoSpaces and added animation and coding to make their prehistoric zoo interactive. Check out our Instagram page for some of the creative designs:
